For a second year, we are excited to host Camp iROAR, a three day program for 60-75 students in grade K-6 that offers fun, engaging, hands-on classes while reinforcing what it means to have good character and serve the community!
- DATE: Tuesday, December 27 – Thursday, December 29
- CAMP TIME: 9 AM – 12:30 PM
- VOLUNTEER TIME: 8 AM – 1 PM
- LOCATION: Commonwealth Elementary School, 2200 E. Commonwealth Ave
BACKGROUND ABOUT OUR PARTNERSHIP
In April 2015, For His Glory launched into a partnership with Commonwealth Elementary School through a community-wide effort, Love Fullerton. What began as beautifying the school through various painting and clean-up projects has grown into a flourishing partnership. Whether it’s hosting family movie nights in the summer or leading a character building camp it’s a blessing to know we are impacting the lives of students and their families in a positive way.
The goal of Camp iROAR is to support the school’s initiative to teach students Integrity, Responsibility, Organization, Accountability and Respectfulness. This year’s focus encourages students to serve others with the theme, “Tigers at Your Service!”
In addition to offering hands-on classes, a special guest from the community will share what it means to be a good citizen and students will participate in random acts of kindness such as packing backpacks, making hygiene kits for the homeless and writing letters to the elderly in a nearby nursing home. Students may also attend Bible Breakfast Club to discover what the gospel and life in Jesus is all about!
Whether you would like to work with kids or behind the scenes, there’s plenty of opportunities to help out. It truly takes a collaborative effort to make this camp a success. Prayerfully consider joining us!
