At the core of For His Glory’s Youth Ministry is to make disciples. We believe Jesus is at the Center of Christianity and our ministry seeks to encourage young people to exalt, celebrate, honor and follow Jesus.
Our desire is to see youth deepen their faith of Jesus, while incorporating these core values:
THEOLOGY | Youth will be involved in study that is theologically rich while also understanding the application of biblical principals. Youth should not grow up learning the gospel for salvation sake, but they should learn to love the gospel of every aspect of the Christian life. By introducing youth to doctrine, theology and biblically sound teaching we hope to foster a love of God’s Word and a desire to live according to His precepts.
COMMUNITY | Youth Ministry encourages meaningful and life long friendships at For His Glory. Youth will learn, appreciate and know they are a vital part of the community of believers. Our aim is to provide support, encouragement and hope in their growing faith.
DISCIPLESHIP | Growing in Jesus naturally leads to questions of purpose and direction in life. Our goal is to come alongside youth in helping them discover who they are in Christ and what God is calling them to in this life. Youth will also have opportunities to serve and be missionally engaged through various short term or one day service and outreach programs throughout the year.
The ways in which we accomplish our vision for Youth Ministry:
Sunday Morning Youth Class | 5th – 8th Grade | Following a time of family worship, youth participate in bible study. Studies may be topical or verse by verse through a book of the bible. Following a 30-minute teaching, youth break into small groups to discuss application of biblical principals, ask questions, wrestle through the content of the study and pray with one another. Our hope is that small groups foster a sense of community and relationship among the youth.
Monthly Devotional Nights | 5th – 12th Grade | Monthly gatherings allow youth to engage in a casual setting for bible study and being encouraged in their Christian faith. Interactive Games, small group prayer and discussion time as well as dinner are usually part of the evening.
Monthly Youth Events | 5th – 12th Grade | Youth events and outings offer the opportunity for relationship building in a fun setting, whether it’s a movie a night, swimming or bowling, our events are designed for youth to get to know each other and have fun!
