“Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.” (Heb 1:1-2)
LIFE IS FILLED WITH QUESTIONS
That’s the reality of living. The more days we breath, the more questions we have. The more we learn, the more we ask. We’ve been created that way. Every one of us, created in the image of a thinking, feeling, reasoning God and the result is, every one of our God-given lives are marked by the same qualities. We think about life. We feel life. We reason through life. We don’t, as the rest of God’s creation, simply react to life. At least not all the time. While there are many moments when we’re so busy and so overwhelmed that all we can do is to live in the routine of things to survive and get by, there are other moments that are vastly different. Moments that subtly come on the drive to work or in the shower or right before we close our eyes for a restless night of sleep. Moments when we dare to think and dare to feel and dare to reason:
– What is my life about?
– How do I fix my past?
– Where do I find hapiness? Or joy? Or peace? or Hope? or Love? Or just rest for the restlessness in my soul.
– Does my life matter?
CHRISTMAS IS GOD’S ANSWER
As we enter the Christmas season, one truth that the incarnation puts forth is this: Jesus is God’s answer to our questions in life. Immanuel, Great Counselor, Prince of Peace, Son of David, Son of Man, Son of God, the Christ, the Savior, the Alpha and the Omega, the Bright Morning Star. Many names for many questions, all for one answer. Jesus. Starting this week for the next three weeks, we’ll be looking at
“The Christmas Answer”.
God’s response to our question about sin, fear & sorrow.
For His Glory Community Church, Sundays at 10am in Claremont.
