“And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus.” ~Luke 1:30-31
A WOMAN WHO FOLLOWED GOD
When the angel Gabriel came to her and told her she would give birth to the savior she was not stunned by the sight of an angel, instead she was wondering why he came to her. She didn’t ask how this would affect her relationship with Joseph, she didn’t ask what her family would think, she was not hesitant to agree to do the work of the Lord.
MARY WAS FAITHFUL
She allowed the Lord to work things out with Joseph. She had faith when they had to go to Bethlehem when she was so close to labor.
MATURE
Mary was mature. Even though she was only about sixteen years old she had full awareness of God, confidence in the scripture, understanding, and courage.
A GOOD MOTHER
She loved Jesus as her own and never thought of Him as just another boy but as the Son of God in a human form.
